Our Abacus Mental Arithmetic Courses is suitable for children to adolescents, for people age 4-17.
That's right, children can start learning abacus mental arithmetic to build their mathematics basics starting as young as 4 years old. For those who just heard about this and are starting late? No worries you can learn until you become 17, or even 18, 19 or 20 if you are determined.
This abacus mental arithmetic teaches children to count using an abacus (suanpan) to count and calculate values accurately, starting from the basics of 1 2 3 4, addition, substraction, multiplication and division for up to millions at their peak. At the same time, after the basics are set up and students are well ready and familiar with the abacus, they will learn how to count without the equipment, the "mental abacus", allowing them to count gigantic values without using a calculator or any form of writing.
Over the years we have produced students who had achieved the ultimate tier in abacus mental arithmetic, and some of them has even returned to pass down the knowledge and skills of Abacus Mental Arithmetic alongside our main coach, Mr. Low Kok Leong.

We organise official grading tests 3 times per year with the aim of analysing and recognising the ability our students have achieved after practising and learning. Furthermore to build confidence in students, showing them the fruit of their hard work.
Our grading system tests our students in two different fields, abacus arithmetic (advanced calculation using the abacus) and mental arithmetic (simpler calculation without using an abacus, but with what we call a "mental abacus")
The grades starts from Grade 15, which is the first and most basic grade most student begin with, students are free to skip a grade to challenge an even advanced grade as long as they are capable of achieving that level of arithmetic calculation. This grade acts as a benchmark for the level of abacus mental arithmetic ability, students who passed the grading test will be awarded a certificate of achievements in order to proove and as well commemorate the tier they had acheived.
After the grading test, with a couple more months of proper training, students will be able to take on the next level (or in this case, the next grade) and challenge their own ability cap.
This will be an interesting ladder for students to climb on their journey to achieve the Grand Level grade of abacus and mental arithmetic calculation, which involves them calculating millions with their bare fingers, which sounds quite imposibble for humans with only 10 fingers, yet, it is true, and it is possible, through Abacus Mental Arithmetic.
